Meet Jack

I had a client, *Jack, who had experienced a lot of deep trauma as a child.

Through extensive energy therapy such as reiki and sound baths – I’d witnessed Jack’s transformation firsthand. He had shed a lot of the weight of his earthly burdens.

During one particular session, my hands were pulled to his abdomen. As my hands rested there, a vision bloomed in my mind: a powerful Native American warrior.

Meet the Warrior

Jack and I had built a foundation of trust and openness over a year of therapy, so I shared this image, sensing this spirit needed our help.

In my mind, I began a dialogue with the warrior, who then unveiled a breathtaking scene.

He rode horseback through a still forest, snow-capped mountains painting the distant horizon. He was alone and his posture exuded some fatigue from his travels.

Suddenly, a shift rippled through the vision. It was like a stone had been tossed into a still pond. Whatever had triggered the alarm, I was not aware of, but it sent the warrior into a determined gallop.

He became a blur of focused energy, hooves pounding a rhythm of urgency – his hair and feathers whipping in the wind.

His heart pounded a chaotic rhythm against his ribs, each cloud of dust screamed with urgency, mimicking the fear that was rising in his chest.

Then, after cresting a hill, the chilling truth slammed into him with the force of a war club.

With his lungs burning, his vision blurred with sweat and fear, his heart sank into an abyss carved by smoke and despair.

Unspeakable Details

His village, once a vibrant tapestry of laughter and life, was now splashed with ash and crimson. Teepees, once homes, were now barren, wisps of smoke twisting skyward like accusing fingers.

He urged his horse forward, a silent scream tearing from his throat. As he drew closer, unspeakable details sharpened, turning his stomach to ice. His vision tunneled towards one specific spot – the charred remains of his own home.

He dismounted then, legs leaden, each step a descent into a nightmare. Smoke clawed at his eyes as he reached what was left of his home, and there, amidst the ashes, lay his beloved.

Time seemed to shatter. The world dissolved into the single image of her lifeless form, eyes forever closed, skin ashen in the dying light.

A primal roar escaped his lips, raw and guttural, echoing through the silent ruins. It wasn’t a warrior’s cry, but the howl of a wounded animal, stripped bare, his soul exposed to the pitiless sky.

A Loss so Great

He sank to his knees beside her, the world shrinking to the space only their bodies occupied. He gathered her close, her body cold in his trembling arms. He whispered her name, a desperate plea lost in the frigid air. Her warmth was gone, replaced by a chilling emptiness that mirrored the void within him. He held her tighter, willing his love to bridge the chasm, his touch to ignite a spark that would defy death itself.

But there was no answer.

His cries grew, morphing into a keen lament, a song of shattered love and shattered life.

Tears, hot and heavy, carved tracks through the soot on his face. He cradled her, rocking back and forth, a lone figure in the wreckage, his grief a tangible presence that hung heavy in the air.

The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of mourning. The shadows lengthened, the only witnesses to his despair. As the last light faded, he remained, his love’s body providing no soulace, his cries echoing into the star-dusted night, a testament to a love that death could not extinguish.

Tears streamed down my face as I wept with him, the memory of him grieving over her now forever etched in my mind.

I understood why he was trapped on this earthly plane.

The Afterlife

In many spiritual teachings, it is understood that a loss so great can create a shock so deep that the soul has difficulty transitioning to the afterlife.

A Protector

The warrior had attached to Jack to protect him and other earthly inhabitants since the warrior felt he had failed his own earthly family.

A Reunion

With this understanding, Jack and I together implored the warrior to go towards the light, to join his tribe and his beloved as she had been waiting for him all these years.

Suddenly, Jack let me know that he was hearing native chanting and felt that the Warrior’s tribe was welcoming him home.

The warrior’s last wish was for Jack to promise to take care of his health and build his strength. We assured the warrior that Jack would work on this and then we both felt the warrior leave.

To reunite with his beloved.

Understanding Why

Afterwards Jack felt a sharp pain in his stomach, like he had just had surgery. Knowing this can happen with extreme energy shifts, I continued to provide Reiki and I advised him to rest for the remainder of the day.

This was one of the most memorable and dramatic sessions I have experienced, which is why I am sharing it with you tonight.

As I have told this story to others, they have asked, “why tell a spirit to leave who is only trying to be a protector”?

There are many reasons affecting both the host and the spirit.

Firstly, the host might experience unexplained emotions or behaviors not typical of their personality. They might feel drained energetically, have trouble sleeping, or sense the presence of the attached spirit.

Their life might be influenced by the unresolved issues or desires of the spirit, affecting their own decision-making.

In Jack’s case, he held an extreme fear that his family was going to suddenly die and it caused him anxiety on a daily if not hourly basis. After this session he was able to let go of this fear from a scale of a hundred out of ten to a manageable two out of ten.

Secondly, we must have consideration for the spirit and how much more peaceful it will be for them to join their own family and community so they can move on with their soul’s journey.

Energy therapy is a mystery, with each session so different, I never know what to expect and advise my clients of the same. I just ask that they be open and trust that the divine will help them through whatever they experience.
